East-West Rail recently sent an email out to those who responded to the consultation giving an update on the response and what happens next. They received over 9800 responses from individuals and community groups. This is what they say about what happens next. Note: they are being shy about giving exact dates!

“We will publish a summary of all the consultation responses and set out how we have used this feedback as soon as we can – we aim to do this later in 2021.

We have now held two non-statutory consultations, and in 2022 we will present the next stage of detailed proposals and ask your views once more, as part of a statutory consultation.

In 2023, having considered all the representations that are made to us, we expect to apply for permission to build the railway in what is known as a Development Consent Order (DCO).”
