Collect:
Let your merciful ears, O Lord, be open to the prayers of your
humble servants; and that they may obtain their petitions make them
to ask such things as shall please you; through Jesus Christ your
Son our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the
Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen

We
pray for our local communities, for our neighbours, friends
and other people we know. Ask God to help us to be good, friendly
neighbours. |

Monday
|
Ask
God to provide all that we need in resources, human, spiritual
and financial to do his work in our Team. Pray that we may each
see how we can be part of the answer to our prayers. |
|
Tuesday
|
We
pray for the Team Evening Worship. Pray for the organisers and
the speakers. Thank God for this opportunity to come together
across the team for worship and teaching. |
|
Wednesday
|
For
the work of WCCYM (West Cambridge Christian Youth Ministries)
based on Comberton Village college and for Zara as she works
with children and young people. Pray that our churches may commend
Christ to young people by all we do and say. |
|
Thursday
|
We
pray for the leaders of our country. We also remember world
leaders who are known as Christians, that they may act with
wisdom and integrity. |
|
Friday
|
Pray
for our stewardship of time, talents and money. Help all that
we do and give to be an expression of thankful worship to the
God who has given us so much. |
|
Saturday
|
Pray
for people in the UK and Ireland who struggle everyday with
poverty, homelessness and unemployment and pray for those who
are showing God's love by working alongside them. |
Every
day
|
Pray
for those who live with long term illness. |
International
Prayer Focus |
Pray
for the situation and talks in Zimbabwe. Pray that the ban on
aid agencies' operations will be lifted, that they will be able
to reach those most in need with food, and that they may not
be intimidated or threatened. Pray for the church there. |

Confirmation
Classes - The team is hoping to run two confirmation
classes, one for adults and one for young people (11+),
starting in the next few months. If you are interested or

Statement
read on Sunday 20th July
The
joint Patrons, with the unanimous support of the representatives
of the Five Alive Mission Community (the Parishes of Kilimington,
Stockland, Dalwood, Yarcombe and Shute with Whitford in
the Diocese of Exeter) are pleased to announce that subject
to the completion of the statutory formalities the Revd
Alastair McCollum has accepted the post of Vicar.
The licensing by the Bishop of Exeter will be in November.
Alastair's last service in the Team will be on Sunday 19th
October when we will be a holding a special evening service.

Club
Time
to get some summer reading done! Our Book group will meet again
on Monday September 22nd at 8pm at Bourn Rectory. Our rip-roaring
summer read is 'Messy Spirituality' by Mike Yaconelli - a funny,
irreverent and thought provoking consideration of our Christian
Journey. It's available at Amazon.com, Wesley Owen in Cambridge
and via Alastair at Bourn Rectory (contact details on back page).
We can get copies for £7.49 rather than the rrp of £7.99
but orders need to be in by Wednesday 5th August at the latest.
