Boxing Day Fun
Several families turned up on Boxing Day for a bit of exercise to shift the extra pudding pounds. Events kicked off with a 9-a-side game of football that featured players from 10-50 years. The game was finely balanced until Ollie Smith scored a fine goal to break the deadlock.
Following the match there was an interval for the typical Christmas exercise of eating and drinking; the 25 strong gathering polished off some delicious mince pies and mulled wine.
After that teams were reconfigured for a game of Texas Tennis, a larger than life activity (a bit like the State really). There appeared to be no winners or losers, just lots of people having fun.
The morning ended with a game of Ultimate Frisbee, which proved so popular on Sports Day. This game has been imported to Bourn from a beach somewhere hot and sunny by Neil and Kris Stutchbury. The game is just as much fun on muddy grass in December.
Thanks to all the families who joined in and to the caterers. We plan to repeat the event next year - suggestions for new games are always welcome!
